Youth Fellowship
Students in 7th & 8th grade meet monthly for fellowship. Specific
programs are planned by parents who are Safe Sanctuary compliant, and they
rotate the planning and supervising of fellowship events. Events for students in high school
are planned periodically.
PEACE
People Enjoying A Christian Event, PEACE
is an adult and family fellowship group. Some events are for
adults only; others are for the whole family.
Yarn Ministry
All experience levels are welcome on selected days during the month (usually the
first and third Tuesdays) to knit or
crochet prayer shawls, lap robes, sweaters, and baby items for those in need
locally and around the nation and world.
United Methodist Men (UMM)
Membership is open to all men of the church, meeting monthly the second
Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the church basement dining room for breakfast,
fellowship, and business. The UMM organize or support various church activities
throughout the year such as the children's Easter egg hunt, Christmas Eve luminaria
display, children's Christmas goodie bags, and church fund-raisers and projects.
United Methodist Women (UMW)
All women of the church are invited to join UMW, an organization with
programs emphasizing fellowship, spiritual growth, and community outreach.
Monthly circle meetings (Martha Circle/Dorcas Circle) and quarterly programs are held.
Youth Mission Trip
Our high school youth and adult supervisors will travel to Parsons, Kansas, to take part in a Group Workcamp. Our delegation
will join others from around the country to help the
residents with a wide
range of home renovation needs.
Local Food Pantry
Non-perishable food donations and paper products are welcome and collected for the local food pantry, FISH (Friend, I Shall Help).
Local
School Children
Winter outerwear is collected to benefit local
school children.
Rainbow Covenant
In addition to supporting the United Methodist Special Sundays (Human
Relations Day, One Great
Hour of Sharing, Native American Awareness, Peace with Justice, World Communion
Sunday, and United Methodist Student Day) with offerings, our Missions
Committee chooses one project from each of the other seven colors of the
rainbow, supporting not only worldwide efforts (a rural hospital in Mozambique)
but those closer (a residence serving persons with
Alzheimer's).
Other Local, Regional & Global
Missions Projects
Our church participates in events including the CROP Walk for Hunger.
